Dollar Bill Paintings

I have been painting dollar bills for a number of years. They were born out of an interest in the idea of value. I was trying to create work that played with the difference between artistic value and monetary value. I do not think the dollar value of art should be the definitive measure of value, but in a capitalist society it is hard to totally separate the artist from the art market.
